Laura Takagi - M.eD, BCBA, LBA
Clinical Director - Washington State
Laura has over 20 years of experience providing ABA Therapy and support for children diagnosed with autism and other developmental disabilities. She first began working with children with autism while earning her Bachelor’s Degree at Whittier College. It was while pursuing her bachelor’s degree in psychology that she received training in applied behavior analysis and began educating students with autism and related disorders. Laura later worked as a service coordinator for the Regional Center of Orange County where she provided case management for both children and adults with developmental disabilities. In 2002, Laura moved to Seattle and began working toward her Master’s of Education in Special Education from Seattle University. While attending Seattle University she gained experience in several settings including local school districts and at a therapeutic preschool located in King County. During this time, she also worked privately for families providing in-home early intervention services and tutoring for students on the autism spectrum. After graduating from Seattle University, Laura worked as a teacher for an area school district that served many students on the autism spectrum in an integrated preschool setting. In 2006, Laura began working full time in the home settings gaining experience while acting as a program manager. During this time, she gained experience working with school districts, private schools and collaborating with other professionals in the field. Laura earned her BCBA in 2009 and has since worked with several ABA providers in King County. Laura’s experience ranges from working with children and adolescents ages 1 year to 20 years. Laura’s area of expertise is working with children who need support with success in the classroom setting, primarily those who struggle with executive functioning, impulse control, social skills deficits and emotional regulation. She also enjoys assisting families who require support with behavior concerns at home and in the community.
Laura and her team are now enrolling new clients; serving Snohomish, Everett, Marysville, Monroe, Lynnwood, Bothell, Bellevue, Redmond, Seattle and surrounding areas.
